Eternity, Have you ever wondered what lies ahead?Man Sunset

The Bible contains the answer to this, and it is not hard to understand.

To begin with, we need to understand how much God cares for us.

John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

This is perhaps the most quoted verse in the Bible, and in it God describes the vastness of His love towards us.

The problem is, in spite of God’s love towards us, we have not loved Him back. In fact, not only have we not loved Him back, but we have broken His laws (sinned) and as a result we have been denied entry to Heaven.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Most of us are aware that we have sinned, or at least that we have certainly not met God’s requirements for living. What we may be unaware of is how serious that is to God.

Romans 6:23  For the wages of sin is death;…

John 3:36  He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Your sin contains a penalty, a serious penalty. Forfeiture of Heaven means there is only one place left to spend eternity, a place called Hell.

You see, that is where Jesus Christ comes in. He took your place. He died for your sins so you would not have to. I quoted the first part of Romans 6:23 earlier, but the end of the verse says this:

Romans 6:23 … but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

God is offering you a gift, the gift of eternal life. Eternity. In Heaven. Free. Forever.

All that is required of you is this. Repentance and faith.

Acts 20:21  … repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

Repentance is simply you recognizing you have been wrong, and turning from it. Faith is believing the gospel, that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried and rose from the dead.

That’s what John 3:16 is saying.

John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Eternity. You can know what lies ahead, even better, you, by the choice you make about Jesus Christ can determine eternity for yourself by simply calling out to God for salvation.

Romans 10:13  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Now the question is up to you. Where will you spend eternity? If you want it to be in Heaven, in simple faith call on Jesus Christ to save you.

You might say something like: Lord, I know that I have sinned against you, and I am turning away from my sin. I believe that you died on the cross to save me, and I am asking you to forgive me of my sin and take me to Heaven for eternity when I die.

If you have settled Eternity for yourself, we would love to know. Please contact us so that we can help you grow as a Christian
